Everyone knows that keeping fit is a key component to being healthy in body and in mind.  We encourage all forms of exercise, especially yoga because it benefits us in so many ways, not just physical.

The physical benefits:

Creates a toned, flexible, and strong body. Improves respiration, energy, and vitality. Helps to maintain a balanced metabolism. Promotes cardio and circulatory health. Relieves pain. Helps you look and feel younger than your age. Improves your athletic performance.  A lot of focus is on the breath, linking it with each movement, increasing your lung capacity dramatically and your oxygen intake.

The mental benefits:

Helps you relax and handle stressful situations more easily. Teaches you how to quiet the mind so you can focus your energy where you want it to go.  Encourages positive thoughts and self-acceptance.  Helps you to be 100% in the present moment.

The spiritual benefits:

Although you can do yoga from a purely physical perspective, it is a wonderful opportunity to do some soul searching and no matter what religion you are you can go deep into your own belief while doing yoga.  Yoga builds awareness of your body, your feelings, the world around you, the needs of others.  Promote an interdependence between your mind, body, and soul.  Experience yourself as a human being, not a human doing.
